Christopher “Chris” Howard Penning, 52, of Arlington, Texas, passed away at his residence on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Chris was born in St. Louis, Missouri, where he spent most of his life before relocating to Arlington, Texas in 2020. On June 30, 2022, he married Lee Ann Sifford. Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and shared experiences.
Chris worked as an AV technician—proudly calling himself a “stage hand”—supporting concerts and live events. Music was not just part of his work, but a true passion. He also enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, and spending time with family and friends.
Known for his outgoing personality, Chris never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and was often described as the “life of the party.” His sense of humor, warmth, and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Sifford of Arlington, Texas; his daughter, Alexis Penning of St. Louis, Missouri; his son, Nate Penning of St. Louis, Missouri; his former spouse, Dawn Penning of St. Louis, Missouri; his brother, Michael Baker of St. Louis, Missouri; his aunt, Sandra Penning of St. Louis, Missouri; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Baker.
No formal services are planned at this time.
The family will honor and celebrate Chris’s life privately and may announce a gathering at a later date.
