Robert James Troughton, 65, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Arlington, Texas.
Born on February 5, 1961, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, Robert lived a life defined by kindness, loyalty, resilience, and love for his family and friends. He was the type of man who never hesitated to help someone in need, even when he had little to give himself. To many, he was more than a friend or family member — he was someone you could always count on. As he often said, he was “just a phone call away.”
Robert was a proud father to his three children: Tambre Porter, Timothy Troughton, and Luke Troughton. His love for his children was unwavering, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He was also a proud grandfather to Jillian Porter and James Landon Porter, who brought him tremendous joy.
He is survived by his sister, Diane Lents, and stepbrother, Kevin; as well as Brenda Troughton, James Porter, Angelina Chapman, Spencer Sullivan, Shealin Sullivan, and Wyatt Sullivan.
Robert was a dedicated member of the Shriners and proudly participated with the Moslah Mystic Wheels, where he built many lasting friendships and shared countless memories.
He had a gift for storytelling and could captivate a room with tales from his younger years or simple memories shared with those he loved. He cherished time spent with family and friends and believed life was best enjoyed together. He also deeply loved his dogs, Chewy and Roxie, who held a special place in his heart.
Above all, Robert was a fighter. He faced life’s challenges with determination and strength, refusing to give up because, as those who knew him understood, he simply was not a quitter.
Robert’s kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
