Roy Eugene Turnipseed

“Lil Roy”

Roy Eugene Turnipseed, affectionately known as “Lil Roy,” passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 63.

A lifelong resident of Grand Prairie, Texas, Roy attended South Grand Prairie High School as a member of the Class of 1982. He spent 40 years working as an electrician, dedicating much of his life to his trade.

Roy had a passion for motocross and dirt track racing, interests he especially enjoyed sharing with his son, Ryan. Some of his fondest memories were made alongside his lifelong friends, Gilbert Seider and Cruz Martinez, whose friendship and shared adventures were an important part of his life.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Ellen Turnipseed.

He is survived by his son, Ryan Turnipseed; Ryan's mother, Michelle Westbrook, and her husband, Randy; his sisters, Melinda Mitchell and Sherri Mitchell Clemmer; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
