In Loving Memory of Travon Dee Ingram, Jr.

Wednesday, June 11, 2008 – Friday, February 6, 2026

Travon Dee Ingram, Jr., age 17, passed away Friday morning at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Born on June 11, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Travon was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and a source of pure joy to all who knew him.

Travon was born disabled and, though he was non-verbal and wheelchair-bound, he was wonderfully expressive and lived with a spirit that far exceeded his physical limitations. His parents lovingly describe him as the strongest person they have ever known. He endured more than most, yet he never showed the pain he may have felt. Instead, he greeted the world with a constant smile, radiant energy, and an unmistakable joy that could be felt by everyone around him.

Though he never walked or spoke, Travon communicated in his own beautiful way—through his expressions, his laughter, and his bright presence. He was always happy, no matter what he faced, and he had a way of bringing light into every room he entered. True to his curious and joyful nature, everything he encountered seemed to find its way into his mouth, a trait that brought smiles and laughter to those caring for him.

Travon shared a special bond with his sister, Keali, who introduced him to NASCAR races on television. The roar of the engines thrilled him, and he would become visibly excited—sometimes even shouting with delight—as he watched. Those moments captured the essence of Travon: joyful, engaged, and full of life.

Travon is survived by his loving parents, Travon Dee and Kenya Ingram of Lancaster, Texas; his sister, Keali Ingram; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Gaunt of Irwin, Tennessee; his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Timmons of Louisiana; his paternal grandmother, Agnes Ingram of Houston, Texas; his paternal grandfather, Willie F. Ingram of Dallas, Texas; his aunt, Shabakka Straw of Houston, Texas; and his uncles, JK Darnell of Irwin, Tennessee; Willie Ingram, Jr. of San Francisco, California; Mylun Ingram of Missouri; and Trion Ingram of Waxahachie, Texas. He is also lovingly remembered by many cousins and extended family members who cherished him deeply.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Travon’s impact was profound. He taught those around him the meaning of resilience, unconditional love, and finding joy in the simplest moments. His smile, his energy, and his gentle spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
